What Does the Expert Witness Role Involve?
As an experienced expert witness in psychology, you’ll already understand the importance of providing clear, impartial, and clinically grounded opinions to assist the court. At Healthy You Ltd, our work spans a wide range of specialisms — from clinical and counselling psychology to neuropsychology and trauma-informed practice. We’re particularly looking for clinicians with expertise in areas such as birth trauma, family law, brain injury, immigration, and data breach claims. You’ll be joining a team that values robust methodology, collaborative working, and high-quality reporting. We support our experts with operational efficiency and clinical oversight, enabling you to focus on what you do best — delivering expert opinion that stands up in court. You will work independently as a registered clinician, providing expert witness reports for legal proceedings. The work is flexible and can be tailored around your clinical commitments. Support is provided by our experienced operational and clinical leads, and you’ll be part of a collaborative, values-driven team.
Your Responsibilities
Conduct clinical interviews and assessments (remote or in-person)
Prepare clear, impartial, evidence-based expert witness reports
Liaise with legal teams and case managers
Participate in case conferences and attend court when required
Ensure compliance with current legal and clinical best practices
What We’re Looking For
HCPC or equivalent registration (e.g., Clinical Psychologist, Neuropsychologist, Psychiatrist, Psychotherapist with relevant expertise)
At least 5 years post-registration experience
Demonstrated expertise in at least one of the above specialisms
Prior experience in medico-legal report writing (or a willingness to train)
Strong analytical and report writing skills
Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
