Dr Liz Rees
Chartered Clinical Psychologist,
Dr Liz Rees (she/her) is a Chartered Clinical Psychologist registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC). She qualified in 2002 after completing her Doctorate in Clinical Psychology at the University of Exeter, and went on to further specialist training in Paediatric Neuropsychology at University College London.
Liz brings over two decades of experience in the NHS, education, and private sectors. She has worked extensively with children, young people, and families across a wide range of services, including Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS), neuropsychology, paediatrics, looked after children, and adult mental health. Her clinical work includes therapeutic interventions, court-directed assessments, and work in both mainstream and specialist schools.
She currently works in private practice, offering therapy and assessments for children, young people, and adults. She also holds a long-standing role with Capstone Foster Care, where she supports children and foster carers within the care system.
Liz is committed to trauma-informed practice and is trained in a range of therapeutic approaches, including EMDR, Positive Behaviour Support, and attachment-based interventions. She regularly provides training to professionals working with children and young people, including a series of workshops on trauma, polyvagal theory, and complex PTSD.
In addition to her clinical work, Liz has contributed to academic research and published in peer-reviewed journals. She is particularly interested in attachment, trauma, and the intersection of education and mental health.
